The local pub is The Railway Bell which always has a welcoming feel to it, and Woodford High St, full of independent restaurants and shops, has provided us with bustling local night life and convenient amenities. Being only 5 mins walk from South Woodford Central Line station means the journey to work has been easy, and for secondary schools the excellent bus/transport links have been brilliant."

Beautiful property, great amenities, green space, a wonderful sense of community and excellent transport links, honestly, what’s not to love about South Woodford?

No wonder it’s become such a popular area for families looking to make their money go a little further. For a start, there’s a Marks and Spencer and Waitrose on the vibrant high street, as well as independent stores and eateries. It has incredibly easy access to the City and West End (18 mins to Liverpool St or 27 mins Oxford Circus on the Central line), and with Epping Forest a stone’s throw in the other direction, residents really do feel like they’ve got the best of both worlds. 

No wonder it’s such a happy community. Luckily they’re a friendly, inclusive bunch too, pleased to welcome both new residents and visitors alike.

This cinema originally opened in 1934 with the film Cleopatra and the then-local MP Winston Churchill in attendance, but it’s now a seven screen state-of-the-art Odeon, which shows everything from 3D blockbusters to family-friendly animations and art house gems.
